Architects For Future

What drives us
The construction industry is responsible for enormous emissions, waste generation, and the consumption of resources and land worldwide.
This becomes particularly clear when considering a building’s entire life cycle—from construction through operation to demolition. At the same time, this is precisely where there is enormous potential for savings. Intensive research has been conducted in recent years, and there are already many ways to significantly reduce energy and resource consumption.
We founded Architects for Future to raise awareness of the construction industry’s enormous impact—so that everyone involved can take responsibility.
The people behind the movement
As Architects for Future, we stand in solidarity with Fridays for Future and are committed to meeting the goals of the Paris Agreement and limiting global warming to a maximum of 1.5 °C.
We work within and alongside the construction industry, volunteer our time and contribute to charitable causes—both within the movement and through our association—and are committed to driving sustainable change in the construction sector.
We are an international, nonpartisan, independent, and democratically organized group. Our work is aimed at professionals in the construction industry, policymakers, and the general public.

This is how we foster change in the construction sector
We bring people from different fields together, develop solutions collaboratively, and implement concrete projects—ranging from advocacy and education to on-the-ground initiatives.
In doing so, we combine professional expertise, volunteerism, and social commitment. Step by step, we are raising awareness, increasing our impact, and building momentum for a genuine transformation of the construction industry.
The European Network
Strengthening a European Network for a Just Building Transition: Supporting existing initiatives through coordination, exchange and shared resources
Architects for Future Germany has been working since 2025 on establishing a European coordination structure for a European Network for a just building transition. It is understood as an open, evolving process shaped by its participants.

Unsere
Tätigkeits-Schwerpunkte
